We got great value for our money at The Beehive. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful walking trails and charming village pubs. The hosts, Alice and Rob, were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help.
More breakfast offerings would have been nice.

The location of this place couldn't be better. It's nestled in a charming village with pubs and a tea room nearby. Perfect for those who love to explore on foot. Additionally, the cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed for our Christmas break.
One thing that bothered us was the lack of a drainer by the sink. It was a bit inconvenient when washing dishes.

To our stay. the lack of privacy due to the open plan layout was a bit problematic when I had a Teams meeting to attend.

The Beehive was a delightful find nestled in a charming village. The immaculate and cozy self-catering cottage truly felt like a home away from home. The owners have thought of everything, providing all the creature comforts that we needed for a comfortable stay. The homemade Carrott cake left for us was a delicious touch, along with the milk and butter in the fridge. The location was perfect, with a bus stop nearby and a lovely forest walk that led us to a friendly pub serving delicious food. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall experience. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches throughout the cottage were outstanding. It truly served as a fantastic base for exploring the beautiful Forest of Dean. I highly recommend The Beehive for a wonderful getaway.
Although the only drawback we personally experienced was having to park on the road, and the fact that the property was situated in the middle of a housing estate, it did not significantly impact our overall enjoyment of the stay.

I had the most amazing stay at The Beehive! The decor was beautiful and everything was spotlessly clean. The hosts were so accommodating and even left a delicious homemade carrot cake for me to enjoy upon arrival. The location was perfect, secluded yet still close to the town of Lydney. The bed was incredibly comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep after exploring the surrounding area.
